ITU-T\r\nRecommendation G.873.3 defines the protection switching operation and\r\nassociated protocol for SMP at the Optical Data Unit (ODU) layer. RFC\r\n7412 provides requirements for any mechanism that would be used to\r\nimplement SMP in a Multi-Protocol Label Switching - Transport Profile\r\n(MPLS-TP) network. \r\n\r\nThis document updates RFCs 4872 and 4873 to provide extensions for\r\nGeneralized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) signaling to\r\nsupport the control of the SMP mechanism.","pub_date":"August 2022","keywords":["GMPLS","Shared mesh protection"],"obsoletes":[],"obsoleted_by":[],"updates":["RFC4872","RFC4873"],"updated_by":[],"see_also":[],"doi":"10.17487\/RFC9270","errata_url":null}
